Climate
Greening Communities, Building Resilience
Planting trees, restoring ecosystems, and empowering communities for a sustainable tomorrow.

Our Challenge
The Beed region in Maharashtra faces severe droughts, depleting groundwater, soil erosion, and rising temperatures. Environmental degradation not only impacts biodiversity but also directly threatens livelihoods, food security, and community health. Without collective action, these challenges will continue to push marginalized communities deeper into poverty and vulnerability.
Our Approach
We believe climate resilience must be community-driven, sustainable, and livelihood-enhancing. Our programs focus on environmental restoration through tree plantation, sustainable land use, and awareness generation—creating a balance between ecological well-being and human prosperity. Our strategy emphasizes:
- Community Ownership – Ensuring long-term care through active participation of villagers, schools, and local institutions.
- Sustainability – Planting drought-tolerant, fruit-bearing trees adapted to local conditions.
- Livelihoods – Supporting farmers and low-income households through fruit and agroforestry opportunities.

A Sustainable Solution for a Resilient Future
Tree Plantation Initiative in Beed
The Tree Plantation Initiative is Navchetana’s environmental sustainability program in Beed. By planting drought-resistant and fruit-bearing trees, we are restoring degraded land, improving biodiversity, and providing nutritional and economic benefits to local communities. Our initiative links environmental conservation with sustainable livelihoods, ensuring that ecological health translates into community resilience.
Community Engagement
Mobilizing villagers, schools, and farmers to plant and nurture trees.
Sustainable Livelihoods
Supporting farmers with fruit-bearing trees (Drumstick, Guava, Mango, etc.) to improve income.
Environmental Conservation
Enhancing tree cover, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and improving soil and air quality.
